I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Attended Pattonville High School where my sophomore year Art teacher, Ms. Clay, uncovered my love for pencil drawing and watercolor. What seemed to be a natural transition, I bought my first camera (a 127 box camera), at age eleven.
I attended Missouri University in St. Louis, and at age eighteen I contracted to photograph a small number of weddings, and did the developing and printing myself. At twenty two I was an Assistant R&D Lab Supervisor where part of my job became taking pictures of new products for Patten verification.
About this same time I met my wife Suzi, and we married about a year later. we decided to do some traveling, and were fortunate enough to put together a three week trip to Europe. Having our own MGB for transportation, we visited six or seven countries at our own pace and took lots of photos.
From St. Louis we moved to Chicago for abut nine years, which gave me lots of urban subject matter for photographs. When the company I worked for offered us a chance to relocate to California, we spent very little time deciding to accept the opportunity.
I have been a home winemaker for well over two decades, and enjoy the proximity to fist class grapes. We are long term residents of Pinole, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bay Area. In recent Years I have had a few of my photographs published in the Contra Costa Times newspaper.
