Raven Iacono
Raven's medium is encaustics.
Encaustic is a wax based paint (composed of beeswax, resin and pigment), which is kept molten on a heated palette. It is applied to an absorbent surface and then reheated in order to fuse the paint. Raven Iacono has done a power point presentation on “An Introduction to Encasutics” at our artisan meetings. She also uses encasutic methods to make mono prints as well. Raven Iacono is also a mixed media artist who incorporates spray ink, salt, and absorbent paper that can be used in card making, stamping and art journaling.
