I am a long time resident of Pinole, a retired Nurse Practitioner, a wife to my husband Donald, a mother of two children, and a grandmother of five, a devoted gardener, and an artist. My art career began with ceramics in the 1960's. I began drawing and painting in the 1970's. I studied oil painting for nine years with Vladimir Shkurkin, a Russian trained artist living in Vallejo, CA. I then painted with a group taught by Richard Johnson, a California Academy of Arts and Crafts graduate for the next twenty years.
Over the last five to six years I have expanded my repertoire to include dry and oil pastels, and acrylics. I've attended seminars with Albert Handel, Anita Louise West, Sean Dye, Roberta Carter Clark, Elizabeth Mowry, Richard McDaniel, Bill Hosner, Libby Tolley, and Bob Gerbracht.
All of my work is original and is archivally rendered, mounted and framed. I enjoy painting florals, animals, landscapes and portraits. I also work on commission.
I am an active member with the Pinole Artisans serving as a Board Member and as Gallery Director.
